At the British Inflammation Research Association, we believe that the best science comes from keen researchers who wish to keep up with the latest and best in research in informal social settings. BIRAs has dedicated itself for 30 years to organising affordable meetings — providing the environment  to make their collaborations a reality and for lifelong friendships.

 

BIRAs is a not-for-profit organisation whose sole aim is to provide affordable scientific meetings at cost price. BIRAs meetings span the industrial and academic sectors. They are aimed to enhance collaboration and exchange between Pharma and Academia, and at the same time give student and early to mid career researchers the opportunity to present their work, witness cutting edge applied national and international research and grow their own networks.

Membership fees are kept as low as possible. Membership is only £40, and student membership £25. Early Career Researchers are encouraged to take part in the committee and gain experience in organising and running scientific events. All the current committe members joined as Early Career Researchers.

BIRAs is also a founding member of the International Association of Inflammation Societies, and has organised three IAIS World Congresses in the UK. BIRAs Members are thus members of the wider Inflammation community.
